Partner Referral Programme Terms & Conditions
Last updated: April 2026
1. Introduction
These terms govern your participation in TLPI's Referral Partner Programme. By registering as a partner, you agree to these terms.
2. Referral Fee
TLPI pays a referral fee of £500 (plus VAT if applicable)for each qualifying referral. The fee becomes payable when the referred client's SSAS is registered with HMRC. The fee applies to the referred client's first structure with TLPI only - a later structure for the same client does not attract a second fee. You will be asked to submit an invoice to TLPI once the scheme reaches HMRC registration. Payment will be made within 14 business days of receiving your invoice.
3. Qualifying Referrals
A referral qualifies for the fee when all of the following conditions are met:
- The referred individual is a UK company director.
- They are not an existing TLPI customer at the time of referral.
- They have not been in contact with TLPI within the 180 days prior to referral.
- The referral is submitted through the partner portal.
- The client's SSAS scheme reaches HMRC registration.
4. Non-Qualifying Referrals
No fee is payable if any of the following apply:
- The referred client is already known to TLPI.
- The client has been in contact with TLPI within the previous 180 days.
- The referral is a duplicate of an existing referral from any source.
- The client cancels or withdraws before the SSAS is registered with HMRC.
- The referral was not submitted through the partner portal.
5. Eligibility Determination
TLPI reserves the sole right to determine whether a referral qualifies for the fee. If a referral is deemed ineligible, TLPI will notify you via the partner portal with the reason. TLPI's decision is final.
6. Duplicate Referrals
If multiple partners refer the same individual, the fee is payable to the partner who submitted the referral first through the portal. TLPI will verify against existing records.
7. Your Obligations
As a partner you agree to:
- Provide accurate information when submitting referrals.
- Not misrepresent TLPI's services or make promises about outcomes on TLPI's behalf.
- Comply with applicable professional body disclosure requirements (ICAEW, ACCA, ICAS) regarding referral fees.
- Not provide regulated financial advice in connection with SSAS pensions.
8. Regulatory Position
SSAS pensions are registered with HMRC and supervised by The Pensions Regulator. They are not regulated by the FCA. Referring a client to TLPI is an introduction, not regulated financial advice. No FCA authorisation is required to participate in this programme.
9. Invoicing
When a referral reaches HMRC registration, your partner dashboard will update to reflect this. You will then need to submit an invoice to TLPI for the referral fee. Invoice details will be provided in your dashboard. TLPI does not automatically pay referral fees — an invoice from you is required.
10. Cancellation & Withdrawal
If a referred client cancels during the cooling-off period, or if their SSAS application is withdrawn before HMRC registration for any reason, no referral fee is payable. Your dashboard will be updated to reflect the status.
11. Programme Changes
TLPI reserves the right to modify these terms, the referral fee amount, or the programme structure with 30 days' written notice to registered partners.
12. Termination
Either party may terminate participation in the programme at any time. Outstanding qualifying referral fees remain payable after termination.
13. Data Protection
Client data submitted through the portal is processed in accordance with TLPI's Privacy Policy. TLPI is the data controller for referred client information. You must have appropriate consent or legitimate basis before sharing a client's details.
14. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
